“Dying fish” is a solo performance by Marita Schwanke in which she puts at stake the voice and the freedom of women in this society, still being limited and controlled by partiachy.
The solo is composed of a movement vocabulary that works strongly with isolations and in connection with the music “L'île re-sonante” by Éliane Radigue and the recorded poem “Dying Fish” that Marita wrote herself.
The solo ends with a video of Jacqueline de Pré on the Cello and a recording of “Romance for violin and piano Op.23 '' by Amy Beach.
Upcoming:
Currently Marita is working on a group version titled "Dying Fish expanded" in which she works with the presence of 6 woman on "stage" playing with composition and matching the isolations to the alphabet. She is aiming to present this work primarily in public spaces.
