Pilates

Pilates is a mind–body exercise method developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th century. It focuses on strengthening the body with an emphasis on core stability, posture, alignment, and controlled, precise movements.

The practice combines breathing techniques with exercises performed on a mat or specialized equipment.

Pilates improves flexibility, coordination, and balance while building strength without adding bulk.

It is widely used for overall fitness, injury prevention, and rehabilitation, as well as for enhancing body awareness and ease of movement in daily life.

In my Pilates classes, I combine Pilates with elements of Fascia therapy, Yoga, Physiotherapy, and principles from Taiji.

The exercises focus on developing balanced alignment and strengthening both stabilizing and deep muscles, always with mindful awareness.

While the core is a central point of attention, we also work on strengthening the legs and arms, as well as supporting the stability of the ankles and feet. Throughout the practice, we explore the role of breathing as a way to create space within the body and to bring more fluidity and ease to movement.
